Highlight #3: Berklee American Roots Music Program 10th Anniversary
It was really special to perform at the Berklee American Roots Music Program's 10th Anniversary at the Berklee Performance Center. The show was primarily a showcase of alumni and teachers who have careers playing this music, so it was an honor that Josie Toney and I, being students, were asked to sing a verse in the finale song—though our segment was short. It was especially a great feeling to share the stage with heroes of mine like Bruce Molsky, Molly Tuttle, Sierra Hull, Tony Trischka, and Jerron Paxton, among others. In the displayed video our performance segment happens between about the 1:20-1:50 markers. (The video can be found here, in case the embedding doesn't work.) Josie Toney and I were also asked to perform before the show at a reception for the donors to the American Roots Program. Displayed is an image of the correspondence we had with Lexi Jacobs about the performance. This was a fun experience and we were grateful for the paid gig.
